Lobster Habitat Reef Project, Sultanate of Oman

Lobster Habitat Reef Project, Sultanate of Oman

In April 2015, Haejoo Oman Branch has successfully completed the first lobster habitat reef enhancement project in the Middle East, commissioned by the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Oman.

As the world leading marine farm and purpose-built artificial reef specialist, Haejoo has developed a sustainable, site-specific “Lobster Habitat Reef System” that is made of reinforced concrete habitat reef modules, natural rocks and steel cages, based on the findings upon multiple site survey in Al Ashkharah.

The aim of the project is to design and implement a purpose-built sea ranch to enhance and protect the lobster stock in South Al Sharqiyah region in the Sultanate of Oman.

As part of the sea ranching project, Haejoo is undergoing 24 months monitoring program on the purpose-built marine farm.
